  • Relying on the foundation of sensory education, children are further encouraged to translate the abstract symbols, numbers and quantities of understanding and feelings and calculations into objects that are not so complicated and difficult for children in the face of concrete teaching aids. Gradually develop the child's mathematical and logical thinking skills.

    Mathematics is a series of logical thinking and concatenation. It must be classified and summarized to find out their relevance. By calculation, the ideal answer is obtained. Therefore, Montessori mathematics focuses on thinking process and thinking mode. Provide methods for young children to get in touch with mathematics, practice thinking and combine. Montessori examines mathematics from the following three aspects in the experience of children in daily life, namely:

    Arithmetic - mathematics;

    Algebra - the abstraction of numbers;

    Geometry - abstract abstraction.

    The purpose of Montessori mathematics is to make children familiar with the number, accumulate mathematical experience, form mathematical concepts, master simple mathematical operations, and promote mathematics learning through the life experience of young children. Cultivate children's organized thinking, enable children to develop a mathematical mind, and solve practical problems in life. Cultivate young children's absorption and learning of the overall culture, as well as the abstraction, imagination, understanding and judgment required to form a personality.

    "Number" is indispensable in daily life such as food, clothing, housing, and transportation. Few ethnic groups do not know 1, 2, 3 or "many" of these concepts or names related to "numbers." For the simplest number of things, it is inseparable from our lives.

     From small to everyday life, to various projects, to supercomputers, aerospace, etc., mathematics plays an extremely important role in our lives and work. It can be said that the information society that human beings are building is essentially a digital society. Some people compare the meaning of mathematics to humans to the salt that cannot be lacking in life. Without mathematics, people's lives will be difficult to move. Therefore, all countries in the world regard mathematics education as an important course of national basic education, and the enlightenment of children's mathematics is of great significance as the basis of mathematics education.

     First of all, mathematics is one of the tools for young children to understand the environment, understand the environment, and adapt to the environment. When children deal with some problems in their lives, they need counting, computing, and logical reasoning and judgment as adults.

     Secondly, early childhood mathematics education is conducive to the development of children's mathematical logic ability. Mathematical logic ability is an important learning ability of human beings. Young children learn simple mathematical logic reasoning through mathematical activities such as sorting and classifying specific things, in order to further develop complex and abstract logical reasoning.

    Finally, early childhood is a sensitive period for the development of children's mathematics ability, and it is a key period for mathematics enlightenment education. Mathematical education makes children "learn" not the sole purpose, but to open the child's wisdom in the process, with the help of teaching aids, by analogy, to become a child who knows how to think.
